Wedding Guest Dress Series: Romance and lace

Outfit Details: Dress // Shoes (similar) // Purse (gifted)

Back at it again with this wedding dress series! Logan and I went to our friend’s wedding last weekend in Minneapolis and it made me feel all the feels! I’ve always been a sap at weddings (pass the tissues please), but I think marriage has made me even sappier. I loved every minute of the ceremony: the bride walking down the aisle, the exchanging of vows, the kiss! Ugh, it was too much. Going to weddings now will always make me think of my own wedding and how happy that day was for hubby and me. I know I shouldn’t make someone else’s special day about me, but I’m only human. The reception was also amazing because Hubby gave his best man speech which, again, made me tear up. The best part about the reception though? They had pizza for dinner! PIZZA! Epic.

So how about this dress? It’s seriously perfect for any wedding. Especially a summer wedding. The color will go with any accessories. For real, you can wear any color shoe: black, brown, gray, navy, they’ll all look amazing with this summertime dress. Besides, is there anything more romantic and timeless than lace? No, there’s not.

The silhouette of this dress is really similar to this one. It looks like the cold shoulder style is here in full force. At first, I wasn’t really into the shoulder cut-out trend because I don’t have dainty shoulders to show-off, but it’s grown on me. I like that it’s breathable (i.e. not full sleeve) while still adding some ‘pizzaz’ (wait, do people still say pizzaz?).

Want to know what I don’t love about this dress? The shape and bulk of the lace make me look really boxy. Some angles make me look more like a tent than a human woman…

So tell me are you a total sap at weddings? Or can you hold it together?
