Remember a couple weeks ago when I was like “wah wah wah will it ever be colder? I’m over summer.” Well, winter has freaking arrived and we just skipped right over Fall. I’m still hopeful we’ll get a nice week in the high fifties, but we’ll see. Now that we’re chilling in the 40’s on a daily basis, all I want is a chunky sweater to hang out in, work in, travel in, and basically, live in for the next 6 months.
That said, there are three categories of sweaters that I’m absolutely obsessed with this season.
A cropped sweater is great for my body type because I have a short torso. Most of the cropped shirts and sweaters I have fit me right at the waist. They’re also great for layering with longer shirts and dresses. Bonus, now that high waisted jeans are in, cropped sweaters can be worn with those too without actually showing off your midriff. Because who wants to wear a stomach-revealing shirt in the winter? Not me.
2. Bell Sleeve
The wide sleeve is here to stay (at least for another season) and I’m not mad about it. I think the bigger sleeve makes for a really fun silhouette and it can also double as the gloves you forgot (just me?). Sounds like a win-win situation to me. It’s taking every ounce of self-control I have to not add these two bell sleeve options to my cart.
Turtlenecks have been making a come back for the past couple years, and I’m not mad about it. I remember when my mom had to force me to wear a turtleneck in fourth grade. That, I was mad about. Because we all know only dweebs wore turtlenecks in the early 2000’s! I also love them because then you can forego the scarf accessory. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love scarves. But I don’t need to rock them on a daily basis.
