Packing light: How to pack only a carry-on for a 10-day trip

Your ten days, multi-city trip is booked. The train tickets have been bought, the adapters have been delivered, but now you need to pack. Thinking about lugging a 50 pound checked bag on the cobblestone streets of Europe nearly brings you to tears (as it should). So you gotta condense the luggage to a carry-on. Impossible? Think again.

Before I left for my ten day Italy trip, I looked for a packing guide that outlined how to pack a carry-on only for a long trip and couldn’t find one. With that in mind, I hope you find this packing list helpful for your next adventure.

A few hot tips for packing light? Get yourself the packing cubes I wrote about here. They save SO MUCH SPACE. Also, bring a backpack as your personal item instead of a purse. Last but not least, layer up for your flight so you can save some space in the carry-on.
