That’s So 90’s: Overalls & Craft Fairs

Happy Tuesday guys! Remember our friend Katie? Well, she’s back to the blog with some amazing outfit inspo that would be perfect for street fairs, farmers markets, or brunching like a boss. If you haven’t yet, be sure to read all of her amazing podcast recommendations.

Take it away Katie babe!

Hi folks!

Last weekend, Shannon and I hit up one of my favorite Chicago summer events: Renegade Craft Fair. I like to describe the event as “if Etsy came to life and hosted its own summer fair.” I’m talking hundreds of unique artists and vendors, selling amazing handmade goods ranging from illustrations to jewelry to clothing to home décor to candles to…Ok, I’ll stop. You get the picture.

*Disclaimer from Shannon* No, guys, I did not make it to every tent. After 3 hours, I made it to about half…That’s how effing massive this craft fair is.

Outfit Details: Overalls (similar) // Striped Long Sleeve Tee // Shoes // Hat

After a long night beforehand, I decided to opt for an outfit that was simple and comfy – yet still trendy. Gotta look cute for all my favorite Renegade artists, of course!

As we all know, 90’s fashion trends are back and better than ever. Which is great news for me, as I’m obsessed with overalls! I purchased this pair from Goodwill, years ago, and have been shamelessly wearing them ever since. My boyfriend hates them, claiming they make me look childish, but I refuse to let him come between the love affair that is me + overalls. I paired my denim with a loose, striped tee (also a thrifty find!) and a pastel Nike cap. Perfect for a breezy September afternoon!

Last, but not least, can we please take a moment to praise these adorable Ellen Degeneres kicks?! Not only are they super comfortable, but look at the cat illustration! So cute! Don’t worry, Dog-Moms, these shoes come in pup designs too!

I love outfits that balance affordable items with higher-end pieces. What are your go-to pairings?

You can hang out with Katie some more on Twitter.
